Highland Park Baptist Church (1948-Present)

 

 

The property on which Highland Park Baptist Church sits today was purchased by First Baptist Church in November 1948 for "Crowder Mission". Dedication and Ground Breaking took place in June of 1953. In March of 1954 the name was changed to "First Avenue Mission". Then in September of 1955 Pastors and Deacons met at "First Avenue Mission" for the purpose of organizing a church. The name was then changed once again to what it remains as today, Highland Park Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg, TN. December 1, 1955 Bro. J.P. Stockman became the first Pastor and continued to lead the Church until February of 1963. Highland Park Baptist Church has been serving Lawrence County for the past 67 years.

 

Bro. Ricky Cotton now serves as Senior Pastor. Bro. Ricky and his lovely wife Pat began their ministry at Highland Park in June of 2008. Bro. Ricky has served in the ministry for 25 years, pastored 3 churches prior to coming to Highland Park Baptist Church. He serves on the Chaplian Board at Southern Tennessee Regional Medical Systems.

 

Bro. Ricky is a native of Lawrence County, TN and his wife Pat is a native of Rochelle, IL.
